Selena Gomez won her first Alma Award. Last night Selena Gomez won the Year In Television Comedy Actress award for her work in Wizards of Waverly Place.

The awards were bestowed at Royce Hall in Los Angeles, and Gomez won out against other nominees that included America Ferrara, Jessica Alba and Salma Hayek. The ALMAs Award annually recognize Hispanic achievement in entertainment. The awards will air today on ABC
